As they say who ever they are? The first shall be last and the last shall be first.

So it is for the Colin Cowdrey Shield. The last of the competitions for this year and the first for next years merit table, Sunday 21st September saw 22 players assemble at Brampton Heath Golf Club Northampton to take part in the Cowdrey Shield and after the summer we have had, my fingers and toes as organiser were well and truly crossed. The weather was beautiful and for most of us so was the golf and the course, a new venue which people  felt was very blind golfer friendly.

It was particularly pleasing to me to have 6 B1 players taking part.

The overall winner was such a player, none other than Ron Tomlinson with a fantastic score of 40 points.    The runner up was our world champion Mike  Loten.  We also had prizes for best placed B1, B2 and B3. These were B1 Jim O’Brien, B2 Derrick Sheridan and B3 Steve Beevers
