23 EBGA players, accompanied by their sighted guides, took part in the first ranking tournament of 2009 at the Leicestershire course which is situated between Letterworth and Market Harborough.

The owners of kilworth springs, Anne and Roger Vickary,have hosted this 18-hole Stableford event for at least the last 7 years, very kindly granting EBGA courtesy of the course during that time.

Unlike last year, the weather was kind to us: a little breezy but dry and sunny.
The course was playing well and this was reflected in some excellent scores to compare with the excellent 3-course meal that the players enjoyed following their rounds.

the overall winner was john Eakin, from Surrey, with 39 points who narrowly pipped Ron Tomlinson, from Essex, on a countback. Tournament Organiser Jim O'Brien (Leicestershire) and Rob Parrott (Hertfordshire), shared 3rd spot on 37 points.
