There is no doubt about the most memorable moment from the Peter Alliss Eye 2 Eye Challenge at Hindhead this year!  On the 6th hole 132 yard Par 3 Jim O'Brien struck a seven wood onto the green which rolled unerringly up to the flag and into the hole.  Playing with a team sponsored by Twisted Pair, including Chingford Professional Gordon Goldie, Jim was still bubbling over with excitement about his achievement when I caught up with him at the tenth tee tea hut.

Jim's greatest golfing moment rather overshadowed a fine team performance by team Fullers Builders from Walthamstow which included Andy Gilford and guest Mat Sheridan.  The team won the competition with an outstanding score of 120 stableford points.  Each player contributed towards the best three scores on each hole.

In second place on 113 points was the Rising Sun, Swanmore team with Simon Cookson who won on countback from the Peter Levy Select team with Ron Tomlinson.

After the presentation Kevin Woolley auctioned four items and raised £455 for the tournament income plus a great deal of entertainment.

Next year's event has been confirmed for Wednesday 15th October 2014.
