2014 OFF TO A FLYING START
I am sure everyonewas delighted to be able to get out on the course and swing a club in pleasure (anger) after the long wet winter.
This was our first experience of the new format of holding a one day event combined with the training weekend. The Board would welcome your views on how you found the weekend content and any ways in which you think it can be improved or whether you would rather return to the old format.
Please send comments to Barry Ritchie or myself.
I would like to highlight the session on Sunday morning run by Jenny Hartley and Barry Ritchie. It was gratifying to see the large number of guides and players attending and a genuine feeling that all present had the same agenda to improve the speed and standard of play. The quality of the various contributions to the discussion was pleasing to hear.
The benefit of the meeting was clearly demonstrated on Sunday afternoon in the Jack Kerfoot Northern Cup when no round took longer than four hours fifty minutes and many people completed the eighteen holes in close to four hours.
Good luck to our four representatives in the I.B.G.A. World Championships in Australia. I look forward to seeing you all at the Primary Club Match Play at the beginning of June.
