Par 3 Competition at Gaudet Luce April 2014
Sunday 27th April
We all arrived at the course on the Sunday morning ready for starting at around 10.30. At this time we all got together on the 1st tee and then all went to the hole we were starting on. There I met Valerie Daniels the lady I was playing with and Andy and Caroline Muclow, Caroline was Vals guide. We started at the 3rd tee and my first shot was the usual rubbish shot I generally hit on the first hole I play at any course, luckily I managed to card a 5 at that one.
As we were going round I felt I was playing ok and somehow my putting wasn't too bad. I even managed a 2 on one of the holes and a par too which gave quite a few points. At the end of the round I was pleased that I had managed to score on every hole but by this time I was also drenched as a downpour seem to come from nowhere.
At the buffet afterwards and the presentation I was very pleased when Nathan had got the award for most improvement. When Val was announced as runner up I was very shocked as I thought she had scored many points and thought that someone has played really well to have beaten her. When Neil Baxter announced me as the winner I was in a state of shock and after the initial shock I went up and was presented with a lovely trophy with a bone on it.
I still really can't believe it but I am slowly getting there.
I just want to thank Pieta and Mark for organising the whole weekend and the other players and guides for making it such a special weekend.
the biggest thanks I have to give are to my guide John Johnson and my playing partner Valerie Daniels and her guides.
