JEAN BOLTS IN TO WIN PAR THREE
Jean Kennedy-Bolton won the first par three event of the year held at Gaudet Luce on 2 June with a magnificent total of 48 Stableford points.
The field comprised of many high handicappers and a sprinkling of seasoned campaigners playing as guests.
Second place went to Matt Killeen guided by his mother Jacki. He racked up a very creditable 42 points snatching second place from Mark Sturdy on a better back nine.
15 year old Nathan Hill won the Tryers Cup. He found scoring points difficult but kept going to the bitter end urged on by his grandfather.
Ron Tomlinson playing as a guest achieved his second hole in one on the 101 yard seventh hole. As a result of this all players and guides enjoyed a drink on Ron.
It was wonderful to see Mike Loten making an appearance, his first since he suffered a stroke, Mike played nine holes and we all enjoyed having him around again and hearing his boisterous laugh ring round the clubhouse.
The event was followed by a buffet meal and prize giving and a large “thank you” to Pieta Le Roux for his enthusiasm and excellent organisation.
As usual Gaudet Luce made us all welcome and provided excellent facilities and smooth greens to putt on.
