The event raised £406.10 for EWBG and our thanks go to the club, members and supporters of the day.
On Saturday evening Gaudet Luce held their 18th Birthday and we were all invited to take part in the barbeque to help them celebrate. Our thanks go to Alec Fernihough for the invitation.
On Sunday the Strokeplay started together with the first holding of the Bill Chamberlain Stableford Trophy.
Once again for consecutive events the weather was fantastic for the English Strokeplay Championships. After round one Andy Gilford was the club house leader with a superb 62, guided by Melanie, followed by Billy McAllister and Paul Appleyard. Roy Sharples lead the Stapleford competition so all was to play for on day 2.
The second day was to start in blistering heat and the great golf continued, the trophy went to Billy and Sam who together shot a fantastic 59 to win by 12 shots. Second place went to Andy Gilford.
Nick Mills got his maiden win in the Bill Chamberlain Stapleford event so well done to him.
A very hot weekend was enjoyed by all.
