Simon is CookingMalcolm Elrick reports on the 2009 Jack Kerfoot Northern Cup, Horsforth GC, Sunday 31st May. Who said it was always cold in the north. For twenty blind golfers playing in this year's Jack Kerfoot Northern Cup they felt the heat whilst competing in temperatures reaching 25c. The course was in magnificent condition and the greens were looking hot and fast. Simon Cookson went out first with Steve Beevers to set the pace for those who followed and in the end it was Simon's pace that won the event carding 37 stableford points followed closely behind with Andy Sellars on 36 and myself on 34. As always when the game is over, holes are discussed and the usual comments come out of "I have left some shots out there" but when all said and done we all enjoyed the hospitality of the club which has now hosted this tournament for 5 years. The food was good and the champion was crowned
